People who are only able to see their own realities and seem to live them without question are very apt to discredit our ways of experiencing things. But we must be free from letting anyone else define how we feel.
Our best protection against the half-life of seeing things through others; eyes is the development of an imagination in which all things are possible. To do this, it is necessary to give up the security of a single known reality. A song by Kris Kristofferson points out that realities are no more than possibilities, because “truth is the perfect disguise.”
Other people may matter to us in their own way, but no one else can define the meaning of our lives for us.
We each have our own fictions that we call “reality.”
