Not only do we picture ourselves in the roles that we have assumed but we also expect others to react to us as if we were what we say we are.<\/p>\n<p>Among the many stereotyped postures people assume are those of the regular guy or the maverick, the femme fatale or the stud, the proper lady or the gentleman, the devotee to social causes or the high-tech, acquiring yuppie. We dress in accordance with our chosen images, and assume the mannerisms and jargon that fit the models.<\/p>\n<p>We are surprised and disappointed when other people see through our stylized postures, and judge us by how we actually live our lives rather than by the words and appearance that are the hype of our public relations.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em><strong>It does no good to talk the talk if you can\u2019t walk the walk.<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We have idealized images of ourselves.
